Unity and cohesion are the command of the Quran.
Ayatollah Khatami stated: Unity and cohesion are the command of the Quran. This is the message of the Supreme Leader and the late Imam has also emphasized it many times. This is a red line and no one has the right to cross it. Breaking this red line means crossing the lines of the system.
He stated: "Some, who are not even a number, have given black letters that are a translation of Netanyahu"s words. These letters convey a message of disunity and division. For 12 days, the Iranian nation unanimously conveyed the message of resistance to the world, but this black letter carries a message of division."
Tehran"s interim Friday prayer leader said: "Some of the words are partisan, but I believe and will continue to believe that the Friday prayer platform is not the place to express partisan words. They can say whatever they want in newspapers and cyberspace, but when the very essence of the system is at stake, the Friday prayer platform should be a place of enlightenment."
He clarified: In a narration from the Holy Prophet (PBUH), it is narrated that he said: “I invite you to piety and I advise you to Allah.” That is, keep a sanctuary for Allah and I ask the Holy Essence of Allah to grant you a proper sanctuary. Today is the martyrdom day of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and, according to a narration, the martyrdom day of Imam Mujtaba (AS). The Holy Quran has prescribed several duties for Muslims towards the Prophet; not only for the Muslims of the Prophet’s time, but for all Muslims in all ages.
Ayatollah Khatami stated: First, obedience and following the Prophet; people should be told: If you love God, follow the Prophet and take his guidance. Second, being polite in the presence of the Prophet; when his name is mentioned, you should say "O Messenger of Allah" and refrain from overtaking the Prophet. Everything the Prophet says should be accepted and the Prophet should not be left alone. Third, make the Prophet your role model. Your life-giving version is the version of the Prophet. In the Quran, two prophets are introduced as role models: Hazrat Ibrahim Khalil and Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH).
He stated: "Individual, family, social life, treatment of friends and even treatment of enemies must be based on the example of the Prophet. We cannot surrender, because surrender was not in the culture of the prophets. God helps those who stand on the path of truth. The duty that you, dear people, proudly performed in the 12-day war and earlier in the eight years of sacred defense, you will perform again, by the grace of God."

Referring to a statement with the words "change of principles and foundations," Ayatollah Khatami said: "In a situation where both America and the Zionist regime see all their hopes dashed, they repeat their words. They say "declaration of voluntary readiness" or "voluntary suspension of enrichment." While nuclear energy is the future energy of the world, fossil energy is coming to an end and will end, agriculture, electricity, water and many other of our vital needs depend on nuclear energy, you are right; nuclear energy is our inalienable right. But they are talking about suspending enrichment; this means creating division and deviation from the path.
He continued: "That blacklist mentions the beginning of comprehensive and direct negotiations with America? The Americans who martyred our Hajj Qassem, attacked our country, violated all international agreements, and even attacked our nuclear facilities, and now they say, "You go and negotiate directly with America!" Are these people from Ashura? These people from Karbala and will never surrender to America."
The Friday prayer preacher in Tehran added: Last year, the Supreme Leader said: Negotiations with America are neither wise, nor intelligent, nor honorable. But they are ordering dishonor, but the Iranian nation is honorable, will remain honorable, and will not be influenced by their humiliating version.
Ayatollah Khatami stated: In this blacklist, five accusations have been made against the people of Iran. America and the Zionist regime claim that the people are not the rulers. The same blacklist talks about "returning to the sovereignty of the people." 47 years have passed since the revolution, you have gone to the polls and voted 47 times, but they still say that the sovereignty of the people does not exist. This is what America and the Zionist regime say.
He clarified: "They say that reformist critics are being suppressed, but this same blacklist calls for an end to the suppression of reformist critics. Which reformist critic? Cyberspace and some newspapers are full of all kinds of criticism; from the first line to the last, sometimes harsh words are used, but everyone is free."
He continued: "But there is one thing that no regime tolerates, and we tolerate it too: subversion. Subversion is forbidden. Ali (AS) did not tolerate subversion either and said, "These are Khawarij, if they want to subvert, we will definitely hold them accountable." The US and the Zionist regime accuse Iran of creating tension, and this same blacklist says that Iran must stop creating tension.
